David Dewhurst Issues Statement on Upcoming State of the Union Address

David Dewhurst issued the following statement today prior to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address later this evening:

"What Americans will hear tonight from President Barack Obama are more empty words that have led to failed policies and broken promises and more class warfare rhetoric we have heard for the last three years. President Obama’s empty words have only led to failed policies and broken promises. It’s time for the President to stop making excuses, and instead outline specific pro-growth proposals to get our country back on track.

This Is Why We Fight

Once again, President Obama has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by blocking the building of the Keystone XL Pipeline from Canada to Houston, which would have created 20,000 new jobs.

President Obama would rather see radical environmentalists happy than Americans with jobs.

Sign up to volunteer with our campaign today so that we can win the Republican primary, win the general election in November and run Washington more like Texas.

Dewhurst Issues Statement on Texas' Employment Report

U.S. Senate candidate David Dewhurst released the following statement today on Texas' employment report, which saw the unemployment rate fall to a two-and-a-half-year low of 7.8 percent:

"Today's unemployment report shows why Texas' economy continues to grow even though the U.S. economy is under assault by President Obama. I'm proud to have worked with Governor Perry and our legislature in making Texas a leader in job creation by staying true to our conservative principles – reducing spending, cutting taxes and balancing five consecutive budgets. We need to apply the same model, which has made Texas the envy of our nation, in Washington to reignite our economy and put Americans back to work."
